Councilwoman Blondell
Reynolds Brown
Presents The
The 5th Annual Bringing City
Government to Senior Citizens
The
office of Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown proposes
to once again for the 5th year to provide an opportunity
for Philadelphia senior citizens to hear and learn about
what services and programs are available to them from city
agencies with the Firth Annual Bringing City Government
to the Senior Citizens of the City of Philadelphia. Representatives
from selected city agencies will be in attendance to give
presentations regarding the various services and programs
that exist for senior citizens.
The objective of the community
outreach initiative, “Bringing City Government to
the Senior Citizens of the City of Philadelphia,”
is to create dialogue and open the door of information about
services that are available to the senior citizen population
in Philadelphia.
The senior citizen population
continues to experience a rapid rate of growth in numbers.
This growth continues to provide challenges and opportunities
for city agencies to create programs that adequately focus
on and address their needs.
Health Partners, the largest
independent Medicaid Plan in the Philadelphia area, has
proven their commitment to the senior population through
its mission and programs that are geared toward the senior
population. This includes reaching out to and servicing
the Medicaid population through the Senior Partners Plan.
Therefore, Health Partners’ mission of “building
a healthier community,” is consistent with the office
of Councilwoman Reynolds Brown’s new expanded outreach
initiative to seniors.
Senior Partner’s support
of the 2003-2006 programs was instrumental to the success
of the program.
