Resolutions
Declaring
November 3, 2005 as the kick off for “Faith in Families
Initiative” in Philadelphia and recognizing the Faith
in Families foster parent recruitment effort as a compelling
way to introduce and engage Philadelphians of faith and
concerned citizens to the plight of foster youth
Endorsing
the Pennsylvania Balanced and Comprehensive Health Care
Reform Act of 2005
Urging
the members of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania to extend or eliminate entirely the statute
of limitations for reporting crimes involving the sexual
abuse of children
Celebrating
the 10th Anniversary of Teenagers in Charge
Calling
on the Pennsylvania Delegation of the United States Congress
to reject any joint budget resolution that cuts public services
and deepens inequality in our nation by increasing the tax
breaks that primarily benefit the highest-income households
and to vote against any future tax breaks that solely, or
substantially only, benefit wealthy Americans and/or large
corporations, which erode the funding available for critical
domestic priorities
Urging
the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
to enact House Bill No. 377 which lowers the mandatory school
age in Philadelphia from eight (8) to six (6)
Celebrating
the 35th Anniversary of American Theater Arts for Youth,
Inc
Honoring
the National Association of Colored Women's Clubs.
Declaring
February 14, 2005 as “Victory Over Violence Day”,
V-Day
Calling
on all developers to honor the obligations of Philadelphia's
"Percent for Art" programs when building in the
City
